binary number
a number used in a system of numerical notation to the base 2, in which each place of a number, expressed as 0 or 1, corresponds to a power of 2.
exponent
a symbol or number placed above and after another symbol or number to denote the power to which the latter is to be raised.
greatest common divisor
the largest number that is a common divisor of a given set of numbers.
greatest common factor
another way of saying "greatest common divisor."
prime number
a positive integer that is not divisible without remainder by any integer except itself and 1, with 1 often excluded, such as 17, 31, etc.

a number that can be expressed exactly by a ratio of two integers.
